It wasn’t love at first sight.
We met as colleagues at Zanzibar Beachclub in 2020, brought together by the same sense of humour, the same work ethic and a shared love for life by the sea. Sven thought Sabine might be perfect for his best friend. Sabine, meanwhile, thought Sven was simply very much a beach boy.

A year later, friendship slowly became something more. Between dinners, longboarding along the boulevard, spontaneous days out and one memorable summer spent almost constantly together, Sabine eventually caught up with what Sven already knew.

On 5 August 2021, we became us.

Since then, life has been filled with beaches, Thailand dreams, Dinner Clubs, impulsive adventures, laughter, love and holding each other close through the harder chapters too. In January 2026, on a cliff in Fuerteventura at sunset, Sven asked the question Sabine absolutely saw coming…. and still desperately wanted him to ask.

Now we get to do what feels most like us:
Celebrate love, surrounded by the people we love.
